A rectangular pool with pale stone coping and a grey paved terrace at dusk, with lights glowing along a low stacked-stone wall and clipped hedges.
A round sunken seating area at dusk with a fire pit, four wooden Adirondack chairs and a curved stacked-stone wall with blue-grey caps.

Stone Creations of Long Island

Patios, pool surrounds, driveways and stonework for Long Island homes, designed with you and built by our crews.

Good stonework starts below the surface

What keeps a patio flat and a driveway from shifting is mostly out of sight: excavation, grading for drainage, a compacted stone base and a level setting bed. We build those layers carefully, then set the surface, edges, steps and planting so the finished yard works as one piece.

Paul Saladino and our crews bring more than 30 years of masonry, stonework and outdoor-living experience. We’re licensed and insured in Nassau and Suffolk counties, and we work across Long Island, Queens and Brooklyn.

What we build

Hardscape first, finished with the planting, lighting and care that make it feel settled.

Patios and pool surrounds

We lay patios and pool decks in concrete pavers, porcelain, bluestone, travertine and limestone, with coping, steps and seat walls to match. Around a pool we plan the deck, coping and grading together, so water drains away and the edges stay crisp.

When a deck comes up around an older pool, we can renew the pool itself first, with a new liner, plumbing, skimmers and top rail, before the new patio goes down.

A tan paver walkway with a dark border rising up three dark stone steps between low stacked-stone walls, lined with blue hydrangeas and lavender.

Driveways and walkways

A driveway is the first surface anyone sees. We build them fully in pavers, or in asphalt or concrete with paver or Belgian block accents where they count. Walkways, stoops and steps then tie the drive to the door and the yard.

Walls, steps and stone veneer

A sloped yard terraced with a wall of large fitted boulders above a stacked tan stone wall with blue-grey caps and stone steps.

Retaining walls and steps

Fitted boulders or ledgestone with bluestone caps turn a slope into level ground you can use, with steps built into the wall rather than added afterwards.

Front porch piers clad in mixed grey and brown stone, beside wide blue-grey stone steps leading to a navy front door.

Stone veneer

We clad chimneys, fireplaces, porches and pillars in natural stone veneer or cultured stone, matched to the house.

Outdoor kitchens, fire, water and lighting

An outdoor kitchen under a wooden pergola: a stone-clad island with a stainless grill and a speckled stone counter, beside a domed stone pizza oven.

Outdoor kitchens and fire

Grill islands, wood-fired pizza ovens, fire pits and stone veneer fireplaces, with counters and seat walls sized for the way you cook and gather.

Three sheets of water falling from a lit stone wall into a pool at night, with white-barked trees behind.

Water features and lighting

Sheer Descent waterfalls, ponds and rock gardens bring the sound of water to a patio. Low-voltage lighting keeps steps, walls and planting easy to read after dark.

Materials and care

Cleaning and sealing

Pavers are hard but porous. Sealing helps protect them from oil stains and moisture problems such as efflorescence, and it helps hold joint sand in place and reduce weed growth. We use sealers with a natural finish or a richer wet look, and we can also revitalize and seal travertine, flagstone, granite, slate, marble and limestone.

Our sealing application carries a one-year warranty on workmanship and materials. Surfaces that were sealed before, and natural stone, are not covered, so we’ll walk you through the terms first.
